Dun Laoghaire Vinyl Festival
If you like vinyl, if you like music, if you like Rascals beer… then this is for you. The Dun Laoghaire Vinyl Festival returns on the first weekend of November. Now in its second year, the festival is a celebration of the enduring appeal of the vinyl record. Bringing together musicians, writers, actors, producers and DJs, the three day event has talks, live music and DJ sets in The Pavilion Theatre, The Studio @ DLR Lexicon, the National Maritime Museum and the Lighthouse Pub.
Among the speaking event highlights is a discussion on the importance and impact of the music video, with songwriter and director Kevin Godley and Irish director Richie Smyth, whose video work has included the likes of U2, Bon Jovi and The Verve.
Tom Dunne will be hosting a chat with Pauline Black from The Selecter and Rhoda Dakar from Special AKA about 40 years of the iconic 2-Tone label.
Johnny, Barry and Jim from Horslips are among the live music events to mark in your diary, as well as an evening with Liam O’Maonlai discussing and playing songs from the Hothouse Flowers debut album.
