Dust off your fisherman’s hat and baggy jeans because we’re putting on an absolutely stonking night of vintage 90s indie tunes.
Everyone from The Stone Roses to the Charlatans, and from Carter USM to the Happy Mondays, will be getting a spin. There could be a bit of James, a suggestion of The Smiths, a hint of Blur, maybe even a wry appearance of New Order. Fancy a taste of The Farm or Inspiral Carpets? How about Flowered Up or 808 State? It’s going to be an epic set of songs from an iconic era in popular music history.
“There was absolutely no rivalry between the Stone Roses and us from my side. I thought it was great that when we first did Top of the Pops in 1989, the Roses were on the same show; it felt like Manchester was taking over. People still talk about it to me, blokes in their 40s saying, “I was at college when you and the Roses first did Top of the Pops and it was fucking brilliant!” – Shaun Ryder
