In the spirit of bringing you a good diverse range of pubs to check out, our next Pub of the Month selection is the absolutely gorgeous Ruin Bar!

The bar is a project by the guys behind the Camden Exchange bar who thought that it was about time to expand and were eager to try something a little different. So off they went, bags on their backs, looking for new ideas around Europe and found themselves in Budapest where they fell in love with the unique Ruin Bars dotted around this beautiful city. They didn’t think twice to bring this idea back to Dublin and got to work putting their Camden Exchange twist on it.

For those of you that don’t know, Ruin bars are all the rage in Budapest. These bars are built in Budapest’s old Jewish Quarter in the ruins of abandoned buildings or lots. This area was left to decay after World War II, so it was a perfect place to develop a sort of underground bar scene. Ruin Bar’s nod to this is recreated really successfully and in a very cool way with its hip, funky and arty artefacts and artworks adorning the walls – it’s like going to an alternative art show. Plenty to look at while you ponder which drinks and grub to grab.

33 Tara Street is where you will find the Ruin Bar Dublin with an open planned space, big tables to share and interact with friends plus a great selection of craftbeers, cocktails and delicious food served by the most friendly staff around town.

Why are they serving our Rascals beers? Well, of course the hippest place is town is going to serve the hippest beers around! We also have a really great relationship with these guys, and they have been really great supporters of us and the craft beer scene! They have a rotating Rascals tap so you can keep up with everything we are brewing. Currently pouring is our Weisse Guys collaboration beer with Brewtonic. A Hopfen-weisse wheat beer with lemon peel which is going down a treat with the customers.

So, if a bustling bar with crowds talking, swaying, dancing and enjoying the laid-back atmosphere is your thing then head on in! They are waiting for you.
